Exotic Other

This section "Exotic Other" is a collection of separate works I have made in recent years with themes of identity and otherness in the face of hegemonic straight white institutions. The focus in these is representation, but beyond the contemporary drive to "insert a brown person into this". Instead, I mean to represent desires and experiences that don’t find themselves represented in broader society. This includes discussing ethnic and racial minorities as well as queer sexual experiences and desires. For me, it is impossible to consider any single identity separately from my experience as the exotic other.
